Christmas 2016: Gift ideas (or, what should I get my wife for Christmas?)

I make no apologies for writing about nice things here – life is multi-faceted and while I will also be doing things for others on small and larger scales, that doesn’t preclude me enjoying buying things for others and receiving things in return. I have to be honest that I uhmmed and ahhed a little (a lot) about adding to the pile of things we must buy when there are atrocities across the country and the world, where people need basic food and shelter and peace and it is a luxury to even have possessions, let alone a wish list, but this at the end of the day is a lifestyle blog and we all sometimes need a little escapism. So, here are a few things I’d be very happy to find under the tree come Christmas. (Alongside a new government, a different president, a cease fire in Aleppo and ….)
